Villa del Faro is located on the East Cape, 20 miles north of San Jose del Cabo in Baja California Sur, Mexico. We are 14 miles below Cabo Pulmo. Please contact us at [email protected] and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Please note: the Google map below provides a good image of our location. However, the coastal route to Villa del Faro that Google shows is not always in good shape.
Due to the Hotel’s remote location, we do not have reliable cell phone service. Therefore, Reservations are taken exclusively online or through email. However, you can call and leave a message at 617-304-6421. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
MAPS & DIRECTIONS
Villa del Faro is about one hour from San Jose del Cabo International Airport (SJD).
From the airport, head south (right) towards San Jose for 2 miles (3km).
At the first main traffic light, Turn left.
Follow this paved road which ends in about one mile. It will curve to the left then to the right. Be mindful of the four speed bumps (or TOPES) in the road while going around the corner to the right. Once the pavement ends, take the first left. The road will be very sandy. You cross a big sandy arroyo, before the road comes to a dead end at a T. Turn left.
Follow this dirt road which will wind back and forth, always staying on what is clearly the most traveled route. When in doubt follow the signs that point to Villa del Faro or to Vida Soul (Our neighbors)
Five miles (8.4 km.) after leaving Highway 1, you will reach a fork in the road. To the right lies the dump. Do not go there!!!! Bear left towards Palo Escopeta.
Drive 6 miles (9.3 km.), again always taking the route obviously most used. You will now reach the pueblo of Palo Escopeta and be within sight of a basketball court. Veer left and go past this court. You are now halfway to VDF. Watch out for pigs, chickens and calves crossing the road as you go through this little village.
Now continue winding down the hills, through the Palo Escopeta ranchos. Watch out for cows on the road along this entire last stretch. Keep going straight for another 4 miles (6.3 km) until you come to a V in the road. Bear right and keep going (5 miles/ 8km) until you reach the Sea of Cortez, and another “T” intersection. You have reached the coast road (Camino Costero), and this spot is called Las Vinoramas. Turn left (north) on the coast road.
Continue north 2 miles (3 km.). Coming down the hill, you will see signs for TOPES, which mean speed bumps in the road. Drive slowly, and after you pass the second one, you will see the Villa del Faro sign on the right, the stone marker, our driveway, and lots of palms. WELCOME!
