Villa del Faro

Stone Beach Cottage

What better way to experience the true Baja Sur than a unique stone cottage on the sand—thirty feet from the water line on its own secluded beach. One of the most popular rentals at Villa del Faro, this cabin is for the young at heart, the inveterate camper. There is an outdoor solar shower (warmish), and an outhouse 12 feet up a rock path lit by solar lights (not recommended for pregnant women). Inside is a fireplace (with loads of driftwood for fires), a comfortable queen bed, and solar electric light. The walls are two feet thick, glass-free arched windows look out on the sand and sea; the roof is thatched, the windows have wooden shutters that can be open or closed. A picnic basket is provided, with plates, forks, knives, wine glasses, cooking utensils, salt and pepper, coffee and tea. Drinking water is also provided, and a cooler full of ice. This cabin is not for the timid but is unsurpassed for its intimate connection to the famed Baja shore. Gather driftwood, build a fire, grill a fish caught on shore, be alone with the stars and the sound of the ocean.
